Whose Woods These Are?

Washington received about three inches of snow on Sunday, Feb. 25, and this is the view from my home in Arlington, Va., when the white stuff really falls down. I took a similar shot more than a year ago, but this time I had a better camera handy.

I attended the wedding of two close friends, Chris Kennedy and Aerica Veazey, on Saturday, Feb. 24. As an invited guest, I was officially "off duty" as a photographer. But I brought along a Canon Powershot A610 in my coat pocket and took a few pictures just for fun.

"Devil's Vintage"

To sharpen my skills and broaden my photographic horizons, I'm taking courses taught by photographer Steven L. Miller. Above is an image I created for a class assignment, and I call it "Devil's Vintage." My classmates voted this as their favorite of the 20 or so shots I presented.
